Attorney M. Bo Hillebrand

After completing my law degree at the University of Hamburg and my legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Schleswig — including a placement at the Authority for Health and Consumer Protection of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg — I began my professional career in 2012 as an attorney at a law firm in Hamburg specialising in food law. I had already worked there during my studies and clerkship.

My clients included leading companies in the fields of sports nutrition, dietary nutrition, dietetic foods, food supplements and pharmacies.

In 2016, I joined a larger law firm in Hamburg, which enabled me to broaden my advisory portfolio. I was now also able to address questions relating to cosmetics, pharmaceutical and medical device law as well as the full spectrum of food law, including food criminal law and hygiene law matters. Administrative law cases increasingly became part of my practice as well.

My clients included leading companies in the fields of food supplements, foods for special medical purposes (FSMP), infant and child nutrition, confectionery, cosmetic products and online pharmacies.

Since 2017, I have also been providing extensive advice in the area of electronic cigarettes and refill containers as well as in other tobacco law matters such as hookah tobacco and tobacco-free smoking products.

In October 2020, I established my own law office in the town of Arnis on the Schlei, the smallest town in Germany, and have been practising as an independent attorney since then.

My clients include leading providers of electronic cigarettes and refill containers in Germany.
